Safeway Store Exceeds Fundraising Goal!
Rocky Schnepf, Store Manager in Surprise, AZ, challenged his front end team to raise $500 in one day and he would dye his hair pink. The team not only raised $500 dollars in one day (see image for pink hair), but they exceed their $6,900 Breast Cancer Awareness fundraising goal, by raising over $8,900 total!

Safeway Volunteers and UMOM join forces to help the homeless.
Safeway's Phoenix Division volunteers were out in full force this July serving communities across Arizona, including UMOM New Day Centers in Phoenix. Safeway volunteers spent time preparing watermelons, oranges, and grapes—and even had a chance to read to children who live at UMOM.
Founded in 1964, UMOM is the largest homeless shelter for families in Arizona. UMOM strives to keep families together by providing a continuum of care, from emergency shelter to transitional housing and, finally, permanent, affordable housing. Families at UMOM have the opportunity to gain the skills, medical care, quality childcare, and education they need to rebuild their lives and succeed when they leave.
